October has been a very mixed and varied month with some
very good weather and some very bad. and the fishing has
been quite hard on some days. However at the start of the month we made
the most of the weather and the last of the summer
fish with plenty of mackerel, the
usual rays ,bonus pollack to near double figures, odd
bass and bream . The offshore fishing was very good
with good numbers of reasonable tope and congers with
the odd bonus ray and large bull huss. Particularly good has been the evening sole trips
with good numbers of sole to 2lb9oz, plaice to over 4lb, flounders, gurnards, silver eels and red mullet to
14oz with the best evening
producing 21 flatties and on the last trip of the
month we had a taste of things to come with the first
of the whiting making a pleasant appearance.
