Although the weather wasn't that good to
begin with this Autumn it ended with lots of
specimen fish being caught, boat records and
personal bests smashed. It was nice to see a
few more Trigger fish around this year best
one a new PB for Dave Colclough of 2lb 9oz,
also the Sole trips were very good, not big
fish but some good numbers with Silver Eels
seeming to make a come back as well along
with some nice Gilt head Bream. The first PB
to go was Roy Adams with a Bass of 12lb,
then it was Leigh Van with a Piscary record
Red Gurnard of 1lb 9oz, Bream to 4lb for Kim
White, a boat record Grey Gurnard of 14oz
for Steve Hill, a 17lb 8oz Undulate Ray for
Pawel, a 13lb Bullhuss for Dave Colclough, a
20lb Spurdog for Steve Collins and a 53lb
Conger for Owen Masters. However the icing
on the cake was a fish of a life time and
Piscary record a 22lb Turbot caught by Garry
Dennis.
We also had some nice Pollack,
Tope,Smoothounds, Plaice and Brill.
September also saw us do our first ever
Salcome trip it was a great success with a
new speices for the boat Chub Mackerel
caught by Neil Mortimer. Some ling Spurs,
Brill, Pollack, Congers and another boat
record a Cuckoo Wrasse of 1lb 10 1/2oz
caught by Steve Collins.
No Cod yet but there are plenty of good
whiting around.
