Winter 2017/18 Started off very mild with
lots of summer species being caught well
into November including Bass,Loads of
Garfish,Congers,Rays,Bullhuss, Pollack,
Smoothounds,Turbot,Brill and the winter
species as well an unbelievable amount of
very good Whiting and Spurdogs. The only
disappointing thing was the lack of Cod with
only 1 Cod being boated on Piscary all
winter, also the Flounder fishing was very
slow which was a real shame as they seemed
to be making a come back over the last 2
years. Despite this the fishing inshore and
midrange was very good right up until the
Beast from the east hit, this killed the
fishing overnight and will probably take
quite a while before it picks up again .The
Speices hunt 2017 was another great success
with Dave Colclough and Darren Phillips both
ending on 42 for joint first place they both
win a free trip, the boat tally ended up on
55.
